Many machine breakdowns and the resulting downtimes are caused by contamination of electrical devices. In mechanical engineering, it is assumed that this is the root cause for up to 25% of breakdowns. The Modular System “TMS“ in particular is a perfect solution for mechanical engineering because it combines flexibility with safety thanks to a protection class of up to IP65. Flexibility in this sense refers to the circumstance that the frame can be equipped with the individual grommets in all possible ways without limitation. The different grommets themselves cover cable diameter from 1 to 33mm as well as ASi cables.

This gives the electrical design the greatest possible freedom right up to the initial installation, since only the mechanical cut-out (B10, B16 or B24) has to be specified when the housing is produced. Even years after the installation, it is possible to react flexibly to changing requirements by simply replacing certain grommets. Since the grommets are slit, even pre-assembled cables with connectors can be easily used to save time. Furthermore, thanks to the combination of a frame with locking latch and the snap-in mounting frame, no tools are required to securely install the cables.
